For nearly four years I’ve written a monthly blog column for Wandering Educators, a top travel website designated one of the Nine Most Successful Travel Blogs of 2010 by OffTrackPlanet. In October I reached a milestone: I wrote my 50th article for Jessica Voigts the editor of Wandering Educators.
My relationship with Jessie was a side benefit to two travel guides I authored. Jessie saw Traveling Michigan’s Thumb and Traveling Michigan’s Sunset Coast and interviewed me for the new website she was launching. She asked me to write for her site, and I became her first columnist/blogger (First as her Michigan Editor and then as her Travel Adventures Editor), and our relationship has endured.
Why do I write a monthly blog/column for Wandering Educators? (Beyond that I consider Jessica Voigts a friend and it’s a chance to write?). Think free trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Think special-guided tour through the Australian Rainforest. Think five star luxury-all-the-way resort for the price of a Red Roof Inn. Perks. It’s about the perks. I return home and write about the places I visit and in exchange I enjoy the perks.
You can access any of the following columns by Googling Wandering Educators and the column title or you can go to the Wandering Educators website directly and search a compendium of my articles (www.wanderingeducators.com)
